Pushkar Camel Fiar

Pushkar is one of the oldest cities of India, Pushkar is also known by its great history The date of its actual founding is not known, but legend associates Lord Brahma with its creation. According to Padam Puran, the Hindu religious text, Lord Brahma was in search of suitable place for a Vedic yagna and reaches to Lord Vishnu, then Lord Vishnu solves the problem with a lotus and told that this lotus will goes to the best place of the earth, hence leaves the lotus from his hand. In other side Pushkar was already having the special holy affect or image on the earth because many sadhu’s did holy yagna and tapa here so Pushkar river attracts that lotus over itself and Brahma decided to perform his yagna over here. The name pushkar consists of two words “Push”-means flower(lotus) and “Kar”-means hand.Every year thousands of devotees throng the lake around the full moon day of Kartik Purnima in October-November to take a holy dip in the lake. Huge and colorful cattle fair "The Pushkar Fair", is also held during this time.
